As part of the regional actuarial team, you will contribute to the strategic management and delivery of actuarial analysis across the Asia-Pacific region. Operating within a dynamic and international environment, you will be involved in a wide range of responsibilities, including pricing, reserving, and risk assessment frameworks, supporting the development of profitable and sustainable reinsurance solutions.
The role offers the opportunity to work closely with underwriting, finance, and risk functions, gaining exposure to both local and regional reinsurance markets. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain high standards of analytical insight, contribute to cross-divisional initiatives, and play an active role in the ongoing enhancement of actuarial methodologies, tools, and processes in line with global best practices.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct pricing analyses for treaty and facultative reinsurance business across multiple product lines.
- Support the reserving process, including quarterly and annual reserve reviews and reporting.
- Provide actuarial input into business planning, capital modelling, and risk analysis exercises.
- Collaborate with underwriting and business development teams to assess deal profitability and risk.
- Develop and refine actuarial models to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Participate in regional and global projects focused on improving actuarial tools and reporting efficiency.
- Contribute to thought leadership by monitoring market trends and sharing actuarial insights.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and actuarial governance frameworks.
Candidate Requirements
- Fellowship-qualified or part-qualified actuary with progress towards a recognised actuarial body.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in reinsurance, life insurance, or actuarial consultancy.
- Demonstrated experience in pricing, reserving, or capital modelling within a regional context.
- Strong technical actuarial skills, with proficiency in tools such as SQL, R, Python, or Prophet.
- Good business acumen and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Fluency in English is essential; other regional language skills would be advantageous.
