Role Overview
The Operational Risk Manager acts as a second line of defence risk partner, responsible for identifying, assessing, and challenging operational risks arising from business-as-usual activities, change initiatives, and strategic projects. The role involves leading core risk activities such as RCSA, scenario analysis, and issue remediation, while providing oversight on controls, policies, and incident management. Success in this role is demonstrated by effectively advising on risk appetite, delivering insightful risk MI, and promoting a strong risk culture through engagement and training.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a second line of defence risk partner to the Front Office and senior management
- Identify, assess, and challenge material operational risks across BAU activity, change, and strategic initiatives
- Lead and support core operational risk activities such as RCSA, scenario analysis, root cause analysis, and issue remediation
- Advise on risk appetite, KRIs, and risk acceptances
- Provide oversight and constructive challenge of controls, policies, and remediation plans
- Support new business, change initiatives, and strategic projects from a risk perspective
- Deliver clear risk MI, analysis, and insights to risk committees and leadership forums
- Oversee incident management, policy breaches, and business continuity planning
- Promote a strong risk culture through engagement and training
Requirements
