Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Actuarial Manager to join their team in Singapore. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing actuarial functions including pricing, valuation, risk analysis, and financial reporting across various business lines. This is a strategic position that requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to lead a team in delivering high-quality actuarial insights and support.
The role involves supporting senior leadership by providing actuarial expertise in business planning, product development, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including underwriting, finance, and risk, to ensure the actuarial function contributes effectively to business goals and regulatory standards. Technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate actuarial reporting processes including reserving, forecasting, and capital modelling
- Conduct and review pricing analysis for new and existing products
- Lead the development and maintenance of actuarial models for various lines of business
- Analyse and interpret data to provide actionable insights for decision-making
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Support the business in responding to regulatory changes and conduct impact assessments
- Manage and mentor a team of actuarial analysts, promoting technical and professional development
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators
Requirements:
- Fellowship or near-fellowship with a recognised actuarial professional body (e.g. FIA, FFA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of actuarial experience, preferably within the life or general insurance industry
- Proven experience in managing actuarial teams and projects
- Strong proficiency in actuarial software and programming tools such as Prophet, R, Python, or similar
- Excellent knowledge of insurance and financial regulations, particularly in the Singapore or wider Asia context
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
