Overview
We are seeking an experienced actuarial consulting professional to lead complex insurance engagements, manage senior client stakeholders, and drive delivery excellence. You will provide actuarial and commercial insight across pricing, valuation, capital, and risk topics, while developing high-performing teams and contributing to business growth in the Singapore market and wider region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of actuarial consulting projects for life, general and/or health insurers, ensuring quality, timeliness and profitability.
- Advise clients on pricing strategy, product design, experience investigations, reserving and financial reporting impacts.
- Support capital and risk workstreams (e.g. ORSA, stress and scenario testing, ALM, reinsurance strategy, economic capital and solvency considerations).
- Oversee actuarial model development, validation and governance; review assumptions, methodology and documentation.
- Interpret regulatory and accounting requirements relevant to Singapore and the region (e.g. RBC/solvency frameworks; IFRS 17/IFRS 9 where applicable).
- Manage senior stakeholders, present findings clearly, and deliver practical recommendations to executive audiences.
- Mentor and develop junior actuaries and analysts; provide coaching, feedback and performance management.
- Contribute to proposals, thought leadership and market initiatives; identify new opportunities and deepen client relationships.
Requirements
- Fellow of a recognised actuarial body (e.g. IFoA, SOA, CAS or equivalent) or near-qualified with significant relevant experience.
- Typically 10+ years’ actuarial experience, including substantial consulting and/or insurer experience in pricing, valuation, capital or risk.
- Strong understanding of insurance financials, actuarial techniques, and model governance and controls.
- Demonstrable people leadership experience, including managing teams and developing talent.
- Proven client-facing capability with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced analytical skills; proficiency with actuarial tools and data environments (e.g. Excel, SQL, Python/R, Prophet, RAFM, Igloo or similar).
- Strong commercial acumen, ability to manage budgets, and track delivery against scope.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities with sound judgement and attention to detail.
