Overview

This role supports the Actuarial function within the Insurance and Actuarial industry, delivering high-quality reserving, solvency and regulatory reporting outputs. You will contribute to key financial risk assessments and work closely with modelling colleagues to enhance tools, processes and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform sensitivity analysis on reserves and solvency positions, clearly documenting assumptions and impacts.
  • Conduct and drive MAS Stress Test and ORSA reporting, ensuring timely submission and robust controls.
  • Conduct experience studies to support the formulation of appropriate bases for valuation and product pricing.
  • Review protected liabilities required for Policyholders Protection Fund (PPF) reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Partner with the modelling team on enhancements, testing and implementation of model changes and process improvements.
  • Maintain proper documentation, reconciliations and governance controls within areas of responsibility.
  • Support audit requests, ad-hoc actuarial investigations and corporate initiatives as required.
  • Assist in preparing materials for Committees and Board meetings, including clear summaries and key risk insights.

Requirements

  • Degree in Actuarial Science (or closely related discipline).
  • Minimum 4 years of actuarial experience within an insurance environment (life/general/health).
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret results and explain implications.
  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken, including the ability to present to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of actuarial projection software (e.g. Prophet, DCS).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access); able to build and review robust spreadsheets.
  • Self-motivated, outcome-oriented, able to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Meticulous with a keen eye for detail; committed to high standards of control and documentation.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a positive, collaborative attitude.
