VP (Product Control)

Our client is a leading financial organization committed to fostering a collaborative and innovative culture. The role involves developing and executing strategies to ensure the accuracy and transparency of OTC derivatives valuations, preparing detailed risk and P&L reports, and optimizing trade reconciliation workflows. This position plays a critical part in supporting the company's risk management efforts and product development processes, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to regulatory frameworks.

Role Overview:
The VP (Product Control) will be responsible for overseeing valuation accuracy, risk attribution, trade reconciliation, and new product review activities. They will work closely with multiple teams to maintain data integrity, improve processes, and support new product launches, playing a key role in the organization’s operational and risk management functions.

Key Skills & Experience:
• Experience within Product Control, Financial Control, Accounting, or a relevant Middle Office function (5–8 years)
• Deep understanding of financial instruments, specifically OTC derivatives and valuation mechanics
• Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and a control-first mentality
• Proven track record of process improvement and operational efficiencies
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build effective cross-functional relationships

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement IPV strategies to ensure fair and transparent valuations of OTC derivatives
• Conduct independent price reviews and liaise with valuation teams, vendors, and auditors
• Review and assess valuation models and methodologies periodically, ensuring market responsiveness
• Prepare comprehensive risk attribution and P&L reports to inform decision-making and risk management
• Investigate P&L fluctuations, propose mitigation strategies, and develop analytical tools for insights and training
• Design and optimize reconciliation workflows, collaborating with back-office teams to ensure data accuracy
• Lead investigations into complex reconciliation discrepancies and implement preventative measures
• Provide oversight during the development of new OTC products, including stakeholder coordination and pre-launch validation

Requirements:
• 5–8 years of experience in Product Control, Financial Control, or relevant middle office functions
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field
• Deep knowledge of OTC derivatives and valuation processes
• Proven operational excellence and process improvement experience
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work onsite in this role
