We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Vice President, Operations Risk Manager to take full ownership of Operational Risk management across the APAC region. Based in Singapore, this pivotal role is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of operational risk activities, providing strategic leadership in identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks that affect business resilience and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as operational risk representative for APAC, providing subject matter expertise and leadership.
- Lead the facilitation of comprehensive risk and control self-assessments, challenge management responses and track remediation actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis of operational risk incidents and ensure lessons learnt are implemented and shared.
- Develop and maintain risk registers and process maps across business areas.
- Deliver robust governance through preparation of risk committee reports and dashboards.
- Promote a strong operational risk culture and ensure alignment with global risk frameworks.
- Support regulatory examinations and ensure compliance with local and regional standards.
- Advise on change initiatives and assess potential impact on operational risk landscape.
- Drive continuous improvement of the operational risk management framework.
- Monitor broker losses and implement strategies to reduce value and frequency.
- At least 6 years of operational or enterprise risk management experience, preferably in the financial services or investment management industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Basel, COSO, ERM frameworks and risk assessment methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience working with GRC platforms and tools such as Power BI desirable.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed and global environment, driving outcomes independently.
- Professional designation (e.g. IRM, FRM, or similar) is desirable.
- Strong project management skills, able to work under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks.
- Highly self-motivated, collaborative, and delivery-focused, with a commitment to promoting a positive risk culture.
