We are seeking an experienced Underwriter specializing in Marine Cargo & Specie to join our client in Singapore.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing portfolio within the insurance industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal Marine Cargo, Freight Forwarder Liability, and Fine Art & Specie business, ensuring profitability and long-term sustainable growth in line with company guidelines and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite new and renewal Marine Cargo and Specie business.
- Analyze risk assessments and pricing strategies for insurance products.
- Ensure compliance with company guidelines and objectives.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients.
- Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines.
- Identify market trends and support new product development.
- Deliver exceptional service to clients and brokers.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all underwriting activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an underwriting role, specifically within Marine Cargo or related classes of business.
- Professional certifications such as ACII, ANZIIF, or equivalent are highly regarded.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting tools or systems.
- Familiarity with the regulatory and legal environment within Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific region is beneficial.
