We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our client to lead, develop and launch Upstream Energy and Renewables business propositions across a wide APAC remit.
This role requires a deep technical and commercial aptitude and knowledge of complex upstream energy and renewable risks across the Asia-Pacific region. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of existing clients while driving new business opportunities and providing tailored risk solutions, contributing to the strategic growth of the energy underwriting segment.
APAC experience is preferred, however not mandatory, and profiles from an international background are welcomed.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and underwrite a diverse portfolio of upstream energy and renewables risks.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Product development of Upstream Energy offering, in collaboration with Global Upstream teams. Establish underwriting guidelines, pricing strategies and wordings for the APAC/ME region.
- Develop and implement tailored risk solutions for clients.
- Analyze complex technical documentation and communicate underwriting decisions effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients.
- Cross-functional collaboration across operations, finance, claims, etc. to streamline and monitor portfolio profitability, exposures, and aggregate limits.
- Ensure compliance with internal underwriting guidelines and corporate governance standards.
- Stay informed about local and international energy markets and regulatory frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geosciences, Risk Management, or a related field highly desired.
- At least five years of underwriting experience in the upstream energy and/or renewable energy sectors.
- Strong technical background in energy underwriting, risk assessment, and pricing.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to make sound underwriting judgments under pressure.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills relevant to the Asia-Pacific region are beneficial.
