The VP - Data Management joins a senior leadership team, delivering strategic ownership of enterprise reference data capabilities that support the full investment data lifecycle across public and private markets. This role plays a critical part in enhancing data quality, governance, and operational resilience within the organisation’s data ecosystem.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of Central Reference Data Management, the VP will provide leadership for enterprise reference data functions, overseeing design, governance, and evolution of the organisation’s Master Data Management ecosystem. The role involves setting strategic direction for data operations, leading initiatives to modernise platforms, automate processes, and improve data controls. Success in this role is measured by strengthening data quality, implementing effective governance frameworks, and building high-performing teams while representing reference data topics at senior governance forums.
Key Skills & Experience
- Lead the ownership of enterprise data domains or large‑scale data platforms
- Build and execute transformative data initiatives, including platform modernisation and operating model redesign
- Manage reference data quality, controls, and issue resolution across the full investment data lifecycle
- Oversee vendor and managed service partnerships supporting MDM and data operations
- Engage, challenge, and influence senior stakeholders across business and technology
- Demonstrate strategic mindset and strong execution discipline
- Leverage automation, advanced analytics, or AI‑enabled capabilities within data management environments
Nice to Have
- Deep understanding of the investment lifecycle across public and private markets
- Exposure to derivatives, structured products, or private markets
- Knowledge of data governance, controls, operational models, and regulatory considerations
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and ownership of enterprise reference data capabilities
- Lead initiatives for platform modernisation, automation, and operating model redesign
- Establish and enforce data governance and stewardship frameworks
- Oversee reference data quality, controls, and issue resolution
- Deliver executive leadership on vendor and service partnerships supporting data management
- Set expectations, coach, and develop high‑performing teams
- Represent reference data and MDM topics at senior governance forums and enterprise initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in asset management, investment operations, enterprise data management, or financial services
- Proven leadership experience owning enterprise data domains or large‑scale data platforms
- Experience delivering transformative data initiatives and modernisation projects
- Strong understanding of the investment lifecycle and exposure to derivatives, structured products, or private markets highly advantageous
- Deep knowledge of data governance, controls, operating models, and regulatory considerations
- Ability to engage, challenge, and influence senior stakeholders across business and technology levels
