Overview
This role focuses on the analysis and management of Participating (Par) Fund and Universal Life fund performance, supporting robust governance, monitoring, and decision-making. You will contribute to bonus and crediting rate recommendations and deliver insightful management information to relevant committees, while maintaining strong controls and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Par Fund Management Lead in the management of Participating and Universal Life funds, including implementation of monitoring processes and management initiatives.
- Support the annual bonus declaration for participating policies and the declaration of crediting rates for Universal Life policies.
- Support ALCO through production and enhancement of Par and Universal Life Fund management information, analysis, and reporting.
- Develop plans and controls to support implementation of policies within area of responsibility, ensuring appropriate governance and auditability.
- Assist with development, maintenance, and enhancement of processes, policies, and frameworks relating to Par and Universal Life management.
- Support special projects relating to Par or Universal Life fund management, including ad-hoc analysis and stakeholder presentations.
- Maintain proper documentation, controls, and version management for models, assumptions, and methodologies.
Requirements
- Degree in Actuarial Science or equivalent.
- Good progress in actuarial examinations from a recognised professional actuarial body.
- At least 4 years’ relevant experience in actuarial roles, ideally in a senior actuarial position.
- Good working knowledge of Prophet systems with hands-on actuarial modelling experience.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and deliver to high standards.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex actuarial topics to non-technical stakeholders clearly and succinctly.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, outcome-oriented, and demonstrates strong business acumen.
- Ability to guide junior team members and interns.
- Preferred: knowledge of Par funds and indexed products; experience with data processing/conversion tools such as SQL/DCS.
- Fluent professional English.
