As a member of the IFRS 17 reporting team within Actuarial, you will support end-to-end IFRS 17 reporting for a major insurance portfolio. This role combines technical interpretation, actuarial reporting, data/model oversight and cross-functional collaboration to deliver accurate, auditable and insightful financial results.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide feedback during the review of regional and local technical interpretations of IFRS 17.
- Review business requirements aligned to technical decisions and standard requirements.
- Provide actuarial support to solution design and IT to enhance end-to-end ETL tools for efficiency and analysis.
- Support implementation changes across data, models and IFRS 17 reporting outputs.
- Participate in UAT for ETL tools, source system changes and sub-ledger systems, including business validation of IFRS 17 reports.
- Ensure robust end-to-end reporting processes and controls, including data preparation (e.g., model set-up, model points and assumptions) in an auditable manner.
- Support business planning processes for IFRS 17 financials.
- Collaborate with local and regional stakeholders on IFRS 17 reporting deliverables and timelines.
- Analyse and explain IFRS 17 results, proposing actions to improve outcomes where appropriate.
- Perform reconciliations between IFRS 17 and other reporting bases.
- Support external and internal audit requests relating to IFRS 17 reporting.
- Contribute actuarial input to Finance-led initiatives on reporting process re-engineering.
Requirements
- 2–5 years’ actuarial experience (Associate Manager level) or a closely related analytical role; IFRS 17 experience is advantageous.
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related discipline.
- Member of a recognised professional actuarial body (or making strong progress towards qualification).
- Good understanding of insurance products and actuarial reporting concepts.
- Strong technical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Pro-active, motivated and committed to high-quality delivery under deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Prophet and valuation data management (e.g., SQL) is a plus.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
