Overview

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support the build, deployment, reliability and security of cloud and on-premise platforms within the Insurance sector. You will collaborate with engineering, data, security and operations teams to deliver resilient services, automate delivery pipelines and improve observability across critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and release processes.
  • Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (e.g. Ansible).
  • Administer and optimise container platforms and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
  • Implement monitoring, alerting and logging (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, CloudWatch) and drive incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Harden platforms by applying security best practices, patching, secrets management and least-privilege access (IAM).
  • Support high availability, disaster recovery, backup strategies and performance tuning for production workloads.
  • Collaborate on SRE-style practices, SLIs/SLOs, runbooks and continuous improvement.
  • Enable compliance-aligned controls common to regulated environments, including audit readiness and change management.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in DevOps, SRE or platform engineering roles.
  • Strong Linux administration skills and scripting in Bash and/or Python.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure and/or GCP, including networking, compute, storage and IAM.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Experience with Kubernetes in production, including deployments, scaling, ingress, service mesh (desirable) and security policies.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (VPC/VNet, DNS, load balancing, TLS, firewalls).
  • Knowledge of modern application delivery practices, version control (Git) and artefact management.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance requirements in financial services/Insurance environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems under pressure and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience with database reliability, migrations and performance tuning (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Exposure to policy-as-code, vulnerability scanning and supply chain security.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform) are advantageous.
