Role Overview
The VP will oversee Windows Server, Active Directory, private cloud platforms, and related technologies, setting strategic direction and operational standards. Reporting to a senior executive, the role manages a team supporting enterprise operations, incident escalation, and platform modernization while collaborating across infrastructure, security, and application teams. Success is measured by platform stability, automation, and adherence to security and compliance standards.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Lead Windows & Private Cloud operations, defining technical standards and strategy
  • Manage enterprise platforms including Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Citrix, and related technologies
  • Drive lifecycle management, upgrades, migrations, and platform resilience
  • Govern operational standards, KPIs, change management, and service delivery
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity and Audit teams to define security standards and policies
  • Promote automation using PowerShell and Ansible
  • Experience managing outsourced service providers and acting as the senior escalation point

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Knowledge of CIS/NIST security frameworks

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and define strategy for Windows & Private Cloud platforms, establishing technical standards and operational roadmaps
  • Serve as the highest escalation point for complex incidents and problem resolution
  • Oversee key infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Nutanix/vSAN, and Citrix
  • Direct lifecycle management, upgrades, and migration programmes for enterprise platforms
  • Manage outsourced service providers by establishing operational standards and knowledge transfer processes
  • Ensure governance of ITSM processes, change management, and operational key performance indicators
  • Lead patching, backup, disaster recovery planning, vulnerability remediation, and resilience initiatives
  • Define security standards with Cybersecurity and Audit teams, focusing on privileged access and platform security
  • Drive automation initiatives and evaluate new technologies to enhance infrastructure strategy
  • Mentor and develop team members, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
  • 10+ years' experience managing enterprise Windows Server infrastructure with leadership responsibilities
  • Proven experience leading large-scale Windows upgrades and migrations
  • Deep expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, PKI, VMware, Citrix, and PowerShell
  • Strong background in backup, disaster recovery, ITSM, change governance, and operational excellence
  • Experience managing outsourced or managed service providers and serving as senior escalation point
  • Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible/PowerShell), security frameworks (CIS/NIST), and public cloud (AWS/Azure) is advantageous
