General Counsel

My client is a rapidly growing FinTech unicorn, with strong presence in China, and offices in the United States, Europe, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, and elsewhere around the globe. Recognised globally as an innovative payment solutions provider for global e-commerce merchants and cross-border businesses.

They are looking for a solution driven individual to join their international team as a legal counsel to support the Southeast Asia region.

Role

• Review on product, features, platform and other initiatives to provide and coordinate legal advice across complex legal issues such as payments, e- commerce, virtual cards, AML, data security & privacy.

• Provide commercial support to business development team in Southeast Asia

• Support compliance and risk functions with practical and effective advice concerning to MAS and other regulations

• Assiting on other internal matters as necessary, including inter-company arragements, HR, marketing, and corporate governance

• Requirements and Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.), LLM, or equivalent degree.

• Fluency in English, proficiency in Mandarin is a plus

• Expereince practicing either in-house or at a law firm
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to deliver risk-adjusted practical advice to stakeholders across the business.
• Outstanding interpersonal, written and oral communication, and negotiation skills.
